Sam Riggs and his full band along with his amazing light show will grace our stage at Buffalo Creek on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Tickets are only $10. Show starts at 8:00 and Bri Bagwell will be opening the show.
Sam Riggs is one of those rare talents that takes off so quick, it seems like it happened overnight. In one year's time the Austin-based artist has gone from opening act across the major Midwest venues to headliner. His songwriting wizardry, his on stage star appeal and his motion picture quality music videos have continued to ensnare the media’s attention on a national level.
With the release of his latest album “Outrun The Sun,” Sam Riggs has emerged as one of the most talked about artists in the independent music scene. Months before the album was released, “When The Lights Go Out” commandeered the #1 spot on CMT Pure 12-Pack, a monster debut that also snagged the #2 spot on the “Top 5 Music Videos of 2013” list. Sam was also personally invited to fly up to Rock Island, Illinois to record his official Day Trotter session in December 2013. Day Trotter remains one of the biggest sources for emerging artists and includes sessions from artists like Amos Lee, Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Civil Wars, Jason Isbell, Death Cab For Cutie, Ryan Bingham and the Lumineers, to name a few. The high octane “Collide” garnered a music spot on ABC’s hit drama “Nashville,” and a deluge of critical claim on the album followed from outlets like Country Weekly Magazine, Billboard’s The 615, Texas Music Magazine, Day Trotter, Engine 145, The Boot, and most recently, Rolling Stone Country who featured the young troubadour’s rise in music.
Back at home in Texas the album has produced three Top 10 hits on the Texas Music Chart with “Angola’s Lament,” “Hold On And Let Go” (both singles making the Texas Music Chart’s Top 100 songs of 2014) and his newest single “Long Shot.” He has been featured on the nationally syndicated show “Texas Music Scene TV ” with 9-time Grammy winning host Ray Benson, and to over 27 million viewers on "Lone Star Roads TV" with host Justin Frazell. Sam’s live show has become a most talked about “event” and he has been invited to perform at some of the most prestigious music festivals in the region including the renowned Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival in Stephenville, Texas and the iconic MusicFest in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
To date, Sam has sold more than 30,000 digital singles and more than 10,000 full albums. He was nominated at the Lone Star Music Awards for “New Artist of the Year,” TRRMA’s “New Artist of the Year” and “Music Video of the Year” for “Hold On And Let Go.” Sam won Study Breaks Magazine’s “Best Band of 2014” and Texas Music Pickers’ “2014 Artist of the Year.” Looking ahead to a career on the verge of a grand explosion, Radio Texas Live confirms this monster talent picking Sam Riggs as one of five artists projected to dominate in 2015. So as it turns out, the iconic Ray Wylie Hubbard, who mentored Sam early on in his career, was right on the money when he said…
“Sam Riggs wears a legacy of honest country, makes good rock, writes lyrics that matter and straps on a stage presence second to none.”
